Overview

Omnys integrates with Google Ads using the official Google Ads API. Users connect their Google Ads accounts through Google OAuth 2.0 authorization. Once connected, Omnys retrieves campaign performance metrics — including impressions, clicks, conversions, and advertising costs — to generate automated reports and marketing insights.

No passwords are ever shared. Access is scoped only to what is required for reporting, and users can revoke it at any time.

Why Google Ads access is required

Omnys is an AI-powered operating system for Shopify brands. To provide meaningful ad performance insights and connect advertising spend to actual store outcomes, Omnys needs read access to your Google Ads campaign data.

Without Google Ads access, Omnys cannot:

  • Retrieve campaign performance metrics for reporting dashboards
  • Connect ad spend to actual product margins and profit
  • Identify underperforming campaigns or budget waste
  • Generate optimization insights for your marketing team
What data is accessed

Omnys accesses only campaign performance data required for reporting. The data retrieved through the Google Ads API includes:

  • Campaign impressions
  • Clicks and click-through rates
  • Conversions and conversion values
  • Advertising costs and cost-per-click metrics
  • Campaign names, statuses, and budget information

Omnys does not access any personal data of your customers, payment information, or any data outside the scope of campaign performance reporting.

OAuth authorization process

Connecting your Google Ads account to Omnys is a three-step process using the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 flow:

STEP 01
Initiate authorization
Click "Connect Google Ads" inside Omnys. You are redirected to Google's secure authorization page.
STEP 02
Grant permission
Review and approve the requested scopes on Google's OAuth consent screen. No passwords are shared with Omnys.
STEP 03
Access granted
Omnys receives a secure access token and begins retrieving campaign performance data via the Google Ads API.
Data security

Omnys handles all Google Ads data in accordance with Google's API Services User Data Policy.

  • Access granted only through Google OAuth authorization — no passwords ever stored
  • Only campaign performance data required for reporting is accessed
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Google Ads data is never sold or shared with third parties
  • Data is used solely to power analytics and reporting within the Omnys platform
Revoking access

You can revoke Omnys's access to your Google Ads account at any time — no action required within Omnys itself.

To revoke access, visit your Google Account Permissions page, find Omnys in the list of connected apps, and remove access. Omnys will immediately lose the ability to retrieve your Google Ads data.
